The 2004 Draft

Hey look, the NHL Draft was this weekend. I remembered, and watched the 1st round on ESPN2. I took a few notes during the 1st round. Didn't see much of the Bruins table, but I did see the Bruins runner! Woo, Bruins runner! Oh, and Bourque was interviewed around the 11th pick. The announcers mentioned how good he looks and how he could probably still play. When Al Montoya was picked, the announcers commented about Michigan goalies and something about how they don't work out well in pro. (They said it, not me.) The Bruins didn't have a 1st round pick, but when they got to the 27th pick, the one they traded away, if you were in my house, you would've heard "give us our pick back!" and lots of mumbling after that. I won't repeat any of it here.

The Bruins traded three of their picks (94, 129, 288) to San Jose for the 63rd pick. They picked a center, David Krejci. Their other pick was 64th, where they picked Martins Karsmus. I found an article about Krejci if you want to learn more about him. Also found an article about Ashton Rome picked 108th by the Bruins. He sounds like a tough guy. The Bruins draft recap is in the "continue reading" section.

In other news...The St. Louis Blues continued their trend of collecting goaltenders, acquiring Patrick Lalime from the Ottawa Senators on Sunday for a conditional fourth-round draft pick in 2005.What a cool trend to have! Can I collect centers?
