« And with the 5th pick... | Main | Bruins Qualifying Offers »

Late night

I'll be putting in a late night, waiting until the draft concludes (possibly) to recap all of the Bruins draft picks.

If there's any breaking news (i.e. trades), I'll post it as soon as I find out. *sits on pins and needles*

12:53 a.m.
The draft ended a little bit ago, whenever my last refresh was. I am absolutely exhausted, but will give a little breakdown before I call it a night.

The Bruins ended up with six picks total, and used them to select three centers, two defensemen and a winger.

5th Phil Kessel C
37th Yuri Alexandrov D
50th Milan Lucic LW
71st (from PHX) Brad Marchand C
128th Andrew Bodnarchuk D
158th Levi Nelson C

Not entirely sure how the Bruins got the 71st pick from Phoenix, and where the other picks went, but that'll all be figured out later on Sunday. No more trades have taken place from what I can see, so I'll call it a night.

In case you wondered...

Draft picks lost:
35th overall was sent to Washington in the Mikael Nylander deal
68th overall went to Ottawa because of the Chiarelli signing
98th overall and 126th overall went to NY Islanders for 71st overall
188th overall went to Toronto in exchange for Petr Tenkrat earlier this month

Draft picks gained:
37th overall was a conditional pick because of an unsigned former draft pick
50th overall came from Edmonton in the Sergei Samsonov deal
71st overall came from the NY Islanders in exchange for two later picks (98th, 126th)
126th overall came from Chicago in the Andy Hilbert trade

Thanks Jason. I had no idea how they got the 71st pick and where the 98th and 126th picks went.

Great picks in this year's draft. Now that we lost out on Laviolette - I really hope that Pat Quinn does NOT coach the B's. Dave Lewis, maybe - or Sully even....

Yeah, please no PQ...I'd rather have Sully back.
