I avoided the internet for the majority of today only to find that defenseman Andrew Alberts is under contract now. There isn't any mention of it on any of the sites as of yet, so he might have signed his qualifying offer. Qualifying offers expired at 5 tonight, unless the team extended them. (I may or may not update the trackers tonight. Depends on if I'm paying attention to the movie or not.)
In Providence news, Eric Healey signed for one year with Tampa Bay.

Yay! At least one of the guys I liked from last year is signed, sealed, delivered. Is our defense going to be tough this year, or what?

According to the pretty graphic in the Globe today, the defense went from a D to an A even before the season starts. (I still wish they kept Boynton. Defense would've been that much tougher. Hmph.) But I am glad to see Alby under contract. At least I still have one favorite here! :)
