I am going to spend the afternoon upgrading the website from Movable Type 3.35 to the new and improved MT 4.0. If things get broken, you'll know why.
In the meantime, you can always spend a little time in the photo gallery, which will not be affected.
I will edit/update this post when things are finished.

So the upgrade was all for nothing because me, pretending to be a savvy webmaster, wasn't prepared for all of the changes behind the blog. After countless hours, I took a break from the computer in hopes that somehow the little Movable Type fairy would fix everything.
But that didn't happen and I was at the computer from after 10 p.m. until 5 a.m. this morning undoing everything I did. It was not fun, and I was falling asleep sitting up at the desk. And I went to bed when I knew that comments would work and I could post entries, even if the multiblog plug-in wasn't working.
As of right now, this moment, everything is in fine working order, except for the missing archives which will be back soon enough. The blog posts are back on the main page, and I believe there should be minimal problems, if any. (Some pages might take an extra reload to get them set on the right permissions. I have no idea why that is.)
I also added a new plug-in for comment registration with this website. It will save you time from typing your name and e-mail address in all of the time (although it looks like the blog actually remembers comment information now), and I think I may use the feature to publish comments from registered users right away, and hold off on the comments from unregistered users. Who knows, there might be other benefits for registered users down the road.
