The Bruins host the Columbus Blue Jackets tonight. Columbus is a team that we don’t get to see often in the Eastern Conference, and is actually one of the few teams I have yet to see play a game in person. Perhaps I can find a ticket during work tonight.
The Bruins seem to have the edge in the lifetime series against the Blue Jackets.
- The Bruins are 3-1-0-2 lifetime vs. Columbus with a 26-15 scoring advantage in those six games. - The Bruins are 1-1-0-0 lifetime vs. the Blue Jackets in Boston with an 8-7 scoring edge in those two contests. - The Bruins have taken points out of their last four games vs. Columbus at 3-0-0-1 with the loss in that span a 5-4 overtime setback in Columbus on Dec. 26, 2006 in the last meeting between these teams. - The Bruins' only regulation loss to the Blue Jackets was a 5-1 setback in Boston on Nov. 10, 2001. - The Bruins won their last home game vs. Columbus by a 7-2 score on Jan. 18, 2003.
Alex Auld will be getting the start in goal tonight for the Bruins. Fredrik Norrena (4-5-3, 2.44 GAA, .910 Sv%) will be getting the start for the Blue Jackets.
