I openly admit that I like going to Bruins games against the Ottawa Senators because I like both teams. They’re the only other team in the Northeast Division that I will root for, and in truth, I like the Senators because of Mike Fisher.
Tracy broke the news on Sunday via text message that Fisher was injured on Saturday. My reply was, “Oh suckage.” Now I’m a little bummin’ because he didn’t make the trip to Boston. See? This proves why you should jump on opportunities when they present themselves, and how glad I am that I got his autograph the last time they were in Boston. Of course I still have two more tries.
So the Ottawa Senators (21-7-3), best team in the East, are in town. The Senators are 18-1-1 when they score first. The Bruins are 15-3-3 when they score first. The Senators are 11-1-0 when they lead after one period, 13-0-1 when they lead after two periods and are 5-0-0 when they are tied after two periods. The Bruins are 10-2-3 when they lead after one period, 15-0-2 when they lead after two periods and are 2-3-1 when they are tied after two periods.
The Senators come in on a five-game winning streak with their most recent win coming on Saturday in a 7-3 win against the Atlanta Thrashers. Will the Bruins be able to snap their winning streak since they will be missing a number of players? We’ll see.
Alex Auld (4-1-0, 1.40 GAA, .955 Sv% - stats courtesy of the Globe) will be in net again for the Bruins. Tim Thomas is close to returning, but Claude Julien wants Thomas to get one more good practice in before he starts.
The Bruins will be without the services of defenseman Andrew Alberts tonight. Alberts has been suffering from headaches for the past week. Alberts missed yesterday’s practice and it is unknown how long he will be out for. Alberts has been averaging almost 21 minutes per game.
Defenseman Bobby Allen will get back into the line-up tonight. Marco Sturm has also been cleared to play without the half shield.
I will be at the game tonight, so expect some game pictures at some point during the week. I will be missing warm-ups unfortunately. Oh, and the game is on Versus.

As you know, I'm the same way. I like the Senators. They were here last week and I sat two rows behind their bench. The game was total suckage on the 'Canes part but the Senators sure were enjoying themselves. Also, it always seems to happen that way. When I'm really looking forward to a player that I like coming to town they get hurt right before they get here. Have fun at the game. I'm off to the Leafs/Canes game in a few. :)

Is Bochenski a healthy scratch again?

I hope the 'Canes did well tonight. I remember seeing highlights after the game, but no idea who won. I think I was more shocked the see Phoenix had come back from being down 2-0 to win 3-2!
Goon, yes Bochenski was a healthy scratch again. Sad thing is he's sitting on 99 games, waiting to play his 100th. Sadder thing is I didn't even know he was scratched the previous two games before tonight. Poor Bo.

Heh. We were down 2-0 and came back to win 3-2 in overtime. Scored 2 goals in the last two minutes to send it to OT and then won in OT. Great game.

I think Bo Can play he just needs a new change of scenery on a team that needs offense. I know for one thing Bochenski isn't very good playing defense but he can score from just about anywhere.

Diane, so your team thinks games is only two minutes too! Go 'Canes! (Beating Toronto is never a bad thing for the Bruins.)
I feel bad Bo is waiting for his 100th NHL game. I don't think he can't play, it was just the muscle he put on over the summer that set him back. Of course, he needs to get in the line-up to prove he can score goals. Hopefully he gets back in there soon.

Yeah. They think it's only 2 minutes, though rarely does that turn out well for them. ;)
