It happens every year

I have in my hands the new NHL catalog and it has Zdeno Chara on the cover. I'm assuming depending on your location, you would get your NHL team's star player on the cover of your catalog as well. I don't think the NHL is dumb enough to put a Canadiens or Flyers player on the cover of catalogs sent to the Boston area.

There is one thing in the catalog that caught my eye and it seems like a great investment. It's called the GIII 6-in-1 jacket. It has a reversible jacket and vest that can be worn solo. Or you can combine them and add a hood for the below windchill temperatures... or you know, Ristuccia Arena in Wilmington. I kind of want that jacket. But it's a guys' jacket.

I turned to the page that has the "fashion jerseys" for women. There's a new silver ice jersey this season. It's not too bad, but absolutely colorless. I think that makes it great for autographs. Then there are the HerShield jerseys that come in baby blue and pink with "sugar glitter." What the heck is "sugar glitter" and why do I want it on my hockey jersey?

I have a new Bruins replica that I picked up over the summer for the season. I was told that was my jersey cut off for the season since I now have more game-worn jerseys than I can count. But I'm still holding out for a Chuck Kobasew jersey. That will be my last jersey purchase. Or maybe a Florida Panthers one. Maybe I have an addiction to hockey jerseys. At least I admitted it and I'm not in denial.

I think any other women's apparel will require a visit to the Bruins Pro Shop or even the NHL shop in New York. There are some "cute" things I wouldn't mind having.

I got to give the NHL credit. They seem to be branching out. On the last couple of pages is a half page of team stuff for pets.

Now I want to re-do my computer room and make it an official Bruins room with all of this furniture and the curtains too.

And get these sheets and comforter for my bed.

The NHL catalog creates this shop-a-holic monster every single year. I think I need to start on my list to the Bruin Santa early.

Since you're out shopping, you missed my birthday so I give you permission to buy me one of these:

(Size Medium, please.) :D

So, did you get an offer from the NHL shop itself, or did they start an affiliate program, or is it linksynergy that pays for this post?

I mean, I'm all for monetizing your blog. I'm just wondering how to get a slice of the pie (I know, I know...get more readers, advertisers won't pay crappy unread blogs like mine)

i got mine in the mail today too Jaci, and i thaught the same thing w/ Big Z on the cover. Some of the hoodies and light jackets ( and the 6 way jacket too) look like will make my christmas list.

I'll add it to the list for Bruin Santa, Chris. ;)

Cornelius, I wish I had an offer from the NHL. I hardly ever take advantage of the LinkShare program, so I thought today would be good to link to some items. Of course, it took me longer to find the individual item links than it did to write the post or think of all the things I wanted. If you're looking for advice, I use Linkshare and Google Adsense. There's not much pie or I would definitely offer up some slices. Besides, I don't earn any money unless stuff is bought.

Then again, maybe if the links work today, I can buy catalog gifts for everybody! :)

Cornelius, I added your link to the sidebar and changed the properties here so anybody who puts a URL in the comments section will now be linked. Not sure why I didn't have that before. Hope that helps you get a slice of the pie. ;)

That's all it does. It makes me want to purchase pretty much everything I can't afford, which come to think of it...is everything.

That six-way jacket sure does look nice.

Ah, random question. Doesn anyone know where I can pick up a cheap Bobby Orr jersey or Bruins Hoodie?

Then again, maybe there isn't such a thing.

Savard on the market ???

Can't open a new blog so I'm using this one to get some feedback. I was at Bell Centre yesterday night and during second intermission, they showed some sports news/update on the new giant screen (it's so BIIIIIG !)and they mentioned that the B's are trying to trade Savard for ??

I know Savard is not the most popular guy in the locker room (he wasn't in NY, neither in Atlanta !!).
OK to trade Savard as long as you have something valuable, equal or better in return. I heard that they are looking for an offensive defensemen (who would be available ?). As long as they don't repeat once again the Thornton mistake (not getting much in return)

By the way, look at the Habs this year. I really hate to say that but, no real superstar in the line up, but such a well balanced team. If Carey Price does the job in the net, they can go very far !!!!!

I'll touch on the Savard thing in a bit. I don't think he's on the market. But that he was shopped around at the time.

How did the Bruins look last night? Were their penalties legit?

The B's looked OK. No goal at 5 vs 5, all power play goals. Penality calls were so so, but on both sides.

An honnest effort for the B's but we have to admit that the Habs will be tough to beat this year.

With the progress the B's showed last year, I'm expecting them to finish 2nd in the division, enough to clinch a playoff spot.

Is Rask ready ? If so do we need to keep both Thomas and Fernandez ?

Thanks for the game report! It sucks not being able to see games, so it's always nice to have a set of eyes there.

Judging by the information posted in the Globe blog today about Rask, I'm not exactly sure about Rask. He seems ready and outplayed Thomas and Fernandez in camp, but to read he was disappointed he was cut was a little surprising. I would've thought he would expect it.

Chiarelli said that Tuukka Rask, the club's goalie of the future, was disappointed to learn Thursday that his address for the near future will be Providence (AHL).

The GM said he took time to explain to Rask that the 21-year-old 'keeper remains a vital part of the team's overall building strategy.

''I told him what we've got in mind for him,'' said Chiarelli. ''But I think it went in one ear and out the other.''
