Shootout: Bruins vs. Blackhawks

Since I was lazy the majority of the night, I thought I would pop in for the shootout.

Marco Sturm scored the Bruins' goal and had a goal disallowed due to to goaltender interference. Tim Thomas was/is in net. Shane Hnidy was out.

In overtime, the Bruins had a power play and some sweet chances on it. Nikolai Khabibulin made some incredible saves. Then Patrick Sharp had a penalty shot right after. Thomas made the save.

We're currently getting ready for the shootout.

Chicago elects to shoot first. Thomas made the save.

Blake Wheeler shooting first for the Bruins. SCORES!

Patrick Kane is up second. Scores.

Phil Kessel is up next. Save by Khabibulin.

Thomas made the save on the third shooter for Chicago.

P.J. Axelsson is the final shooter. He SCORES! (Giving me no time to question the decision by Claude Julien, except sitting here with a confused look on my face.)

Bruins win 2-1!

BIG wind for the B's in Chicago. The kind of win that boost your "enthusiasm" and confidence. With 2 games in 2 nights (specially with the Habs waiting for them in Boston), they had to collect point(s) in Chicago. Tonight, against Mtl, they have to send a clear message that the B's have to be taken seriously, with a win in regulation time against Mtl. Once again, nothing better for the team's confidence and also to show Mtl fans that there isn't only Montreal in the Eastern conference !!!
