Bruins games (and posting) resume

I hope Santa was good to all the Bruins fans out there over the holidays. I got some Bruins-related gifts from friends, my mother and myself. One of the presents will make its debut at the game on Thursday. (Don't worry, I'll be sure to post pictures of it after.)

The Bruins resume their post-Christmas schedule in North Carolina tonight. Tim Thomas is slated to get the start in goal. The Bruins line-up remains the same from previous games with Matt Lashoff, Vladimir Sobotka and Martin St. Pierre still recalled.

Defenseman Aaron Ward and forward Petteri Nokelainen made the trip with the team, so they might be able to get in the line-up at some point. If not, at least they'll be skating with the team. (I can remember a time earlier in the season when I wasn't able to spell "Petteri Nokelainen" correctly or at all and used to copy and paste all the time. Now it flows from my fingertips.)

As fans know, Patrice Bergeron suffered a concussion before Christmas and will be out for a bit. He was experiencing headaches earlier this week, but coach Claude Julien reports he's feeling better today than yesterday. As long as he keeps progressing, he should be back soon.

Marco Sturm returned for a game and scored a goal on his first shift. Then he got injured. He sustained a knee injury and it appears the swelling has started going down.

The Bruins visit Atlanta tomorrow and Pittsburgh on Tuesday to conclude the road trip.

Funny fact about M St-Pierre.

My parents have a cottage at about 90 miles N-W of Montreal (Lac des Plages... beautiful place)

Last summer (2008) while I was searching for my crazy dog around the cottage, a lady told me that she saw my dog on her land about 10 minutes ago. Then she asked me if I was a Bruins fan !!!! ( I guess I was wearing a B's t-shirt). Of course I say yes !!! Then the lady tells me that she's Martin St-Pierre's aunt, who just got traded to Boston. "things didn't went that well for him in Chicago" as she told me. She was quite surprised that I knew him, and was also aware of the recent trade !! She confirmed with me that Martin spent a lot of his summers at her cottage with cousins.

Knowing that, I can tell you that Martin was apart of a bunch of kids who spent their summers doing a lot of water ski and motor boat.
