The Bruins were in Detroit on Tuesday. They were shut out 2-0. They were shut out 1-0 on Sunday against the Rangers, a game that I was happy to miss. The Bruins lost two games in a row for the first time this season. They have been inconsistently consistent in their trend of winning one and losing one since the season started in October. If the trend continued, they would have won against the Red Wings. I was hoping for one of those late comebacks, like the won against the Senators.
Fluto put it best...
The Bruins can cry into their beers all they want about missing Marc Savard and Milan Lucic. But the Wings were without Johan Franzen, Valtteri Filppula, Brian Rafalski, and Jonathan Ericsson tonight, and still managed to tuck two pucks behind Tim Thomas to claim the 2-0 win.
Fans can do the same, whine about who's not in the lineup, but when it comes down to it, there are still 12 forwards in the line-up capable of putting pucks in the net. They have done it before. Maybe they have gotten a little snake bitten the last two games. It does happen to the best of teams. But to search for excuse after excuse why this team isn't scoring or winning two games in a row is a waste of time. It is up to whoever is on the ice to get the job done and that usually means more than one line has to have a strong game and step up.
Don't even get me started on the power play or I'll be here all night.
The Montreal Canadiens come to town on Thursday. If that doesn't get the players to step their games up, get their offensive juices going and put together a strong game, then I don't know what will.

I wasn't terribly impressed with the Bruins play against the Habs last night. I just don't feel like the Bruins players like Krejci (prior to H1N1), Wheeler, etc... are ready to play this season.
Tim Thomas and Zdeno Chara don't seem like themselves either.
Right now, as we get to the quarter mark of the season, the Bruins aren't in the playoffs. I'm sure you are more aware of that then me... but that's crazy!
Everyone said Wheeler put on those 25 pounds of muscle mass and it did nothing to his speed. Well you know what it did effect? His hands. His arms and chest are bigger and his hands seem slow and ackward. Krejci missed trainning camp and is slowly finally starting to look right again.
Chara seemed to have an undisclosed shoulder injury. He wasn't shooting and didn't seem to be the physical pressence he has been in years past. Part of that I attribute to the loss of chemistry he had with Ward. He just doesn't look comfertable with Morris. It's start to come though it's getting to a point where it looks like they are getting accustomed to each other.
Far as Timmie goes..really? He had like two bad games. With those games gone his save percentage goes up to about 930 and his gaa would drop to about 2 even. Those are quality numbers. Lets be real his .916 and 2.44 are not bad considering this teams defensive struggles early in the year.
Now the big issue seems to be the offensive players just not looking offensive. Sturm hasn't been putting anything into the net. Wheeler's issues we already talked about. Recchi hasn't been tipping stuff home this year as he had last year. Ryder has looked terrible (accept when scoring) the rest of his game just seems bad this year.
Hi there,
My name is John Meyer from South Dakota. I stumbled upon your blog via Google and enjoyed reading about the Bruins.
I'm actually a die-hard baseball fan by nature, but am in search of finding a hockey team to follow. I recently launched a website called PickMyNHLTeam.com. It's a video blog where I do a video review of each team and try to garner opinions and votes using social media.
I started on Monday with the Ducks and then did the Thrashers today and the Bruins on Friday. I'm looking for a Boston Bruins blogger to write a guest post on why a person should be a Bruins fan. Basically, a couple paragraphs on the best things about being a Bruins fan. It could be certain players, the logo, the arena, the history, whatever.
Would you be interested in doing this? You can also publish the post on your blog and I'll link up your blog on my end and hopefully send you some traffic.
Feel free to email me at pickmynhlteam@gmail.com if you have any questions and follow me on Twitter @johntmeyer.
Thanks,
John
